The former Super Welterweight World Champion is hosting a grocery giveaway this Saturday, April 25 in his native Detroit.
Tony Harrison’s immense love for Detroit is what pushes him to fight—no matter the cirumstances—for his city.
The former Super Welterweight World Champion has always given back within his community—whether it be running a boxing program for at-risk kids or hosting his annual Thanksgiving food drive. But this Saturday, April 25, Harrison is going through with a grocery giveaway for those less fortunate—despite the recent death of his father.
Ali Salaam, 59, died earlier this week from complications related to COVID-19.
“We gonna fight this thing together. This Saturday we are giving away 45,000 pounds of food for anyone who needs it at this dark hour,” Harrison said on social media.
“So thankful for all of your help. We are gonna fight this dark fight together one day at a time.”
“The Collaboration” grocery giveaway starts at 10 a.m. ET at the SuperBad Boxing Gym at 8701 Puritan Ave. in Detroit.
