Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. made his American debut in July, and it was memorable in more ways than one.

The Mexico native dropped 122-pound titleholder Carl Frampton twice in the first round and appeared well on his way to stealing the undefeated champion’s crown. But Frampton regained his composure, benefited from two low-blow fouls on Gonzalez and escaped with a 12-round, unanimous-decision victory.
For the first time since that setback, Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. (25-2-2, 15 KOs) returns to the ring—and U.S. soil—looking to finish the job this time when he faces Karim Guerfi (22-3, 6 KOs) on November 10 in a Premier Boxing Champions Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays event (Fox Sports 1, 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT). The 118-pound showdown from Austin City Music Hall in Austin, Texas, is scheduled for 10 rounds.
The son of a former world champ, Gonzalez began his pro career at age 17 and was unbeaten through his first 24 fights. That streak ended in April 2014 when he dropped a technical decision to Juan Alberto Rosas after Rosas was cut over his right eye and unable to continue after the ninth round.
Gonzalez, 22, bounced back from that defeat with a trio of victories—a pair of eight-round unanimous decisions and a second-round knockout—that preceded the Frampton loss.
Gonzalez will be facing an experienced opponent in Guerfi, who turned pro in 2006. Like Gonzalez, the 28-year-old Frenchman went through the early portion of his career without any setbacks, winning his first 18 fights.
Although Guerfi has gone just 4-3 since, he is coming off consecutive wins over Oscar Trujillo in November (first-round KO) and Arnoldo Solano in June (unanimous decision).
Gonzalez, whose first 28 bouts were in Mexico, will be fighting for the second time in the U.S., while Guerfi will be making his American debut.
